good product no fish taste December 12, 2008 Tuba Akin (MA) If you need a fish oil, do not go another place and buy this product. I prepared a glass of water after take one tea spoon of that product. But after I took the fish oil, I did not need to drink water on it. Because taste is so good, I mean there is no fish oil taste or smell. Also I am pregnant and I have extreme morning sickness problem. However, this product is great even you are pregnant. I recommend it to everyone.

I've been taking Carlson fish oil for several months now. My triglyceride level is now half what it was before I started taking this. Along with reducing sugars, carbohydrates, and corn products this strategy worked for me. This product comes in lemon and orange flavors . I found it a little cheaper in my local health food store, however, so on line purchase might not be the best for everyone.
How to take liquid fish oil... March 15, 2006 M. Barton (Northeast USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Fish oil capsules cause me to have fish oil after-burps (yuck!), which make me avoid taking fish oil at all. I prefer Carlson's fish oil, but only because I learned the trick of how to swallow a teaspoon of it without gagging. Have a glass of water or juice handy. Measure out your teaspoon of oil in a tablespoon sized spoon, so you have less chance of spilling it. Take the teaspoon of fish oil in to your mouth, let it gather under your tongue, but do not swallow it until you take your glass of water and wash it down. I take the fish oil before I eat breakfast. No fish burps later. You can do it. It is worth it. The lemon flavor only partially masks the fishiness of the oil, but it is better than pure fish smell. I think Carlson's fish oil is an excellent product, pure and fresh.
A Bit Expensive, but a Reputable Company September 10, 2005 James Koenig (Minnesota) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This formulation of Omega-3 fish oil is a bulk liquid product. It is much easier to swallow than the pills, but the added convenience comes at a heft price tag. If you cannot swallow the pills, then the liquid form is for you. Omega-3 fatty acids from our foods (or through supplementation) are important because our bodies do not have the enzymes necessary to create these long-chain fatty acids. The major omega-3 fatty acids are: ALA, (alpha) linolenic acid EPA, eicosapentaenoic acid DHA, docosahexaenoic acid Supplemental Omega 3 Oils: Many people desire to supplement their omega-3 fatty acid intake with dietary supplements. These supplements generally contain flaxseed oil or fish oil. Flaxseed oil contains alpha-linolenic acid but no EPA and DHA Marine algae sources produce only DHA and no EPA Cold water marine fish oil contains primarily EPA and DHA The preferred form of omega-3 fatty acids is triglycerides from fish oil. It is the most bioavailable form. Another positive about omega-3 fatty acid nutritional supplements is that most of the contaminants, such as harmful PCBs and metals, have been removed during the purification process. Recently, Harvard Medical School researchers studied commercially available omega-3 fish oil supplements and found that they have only "negligible amounts of mercury". Further, they state: "The additional benefit of fatty acids from fish oil is that large doses of Omega-3 fatty acids can be ingested easily in a capsule without the risk of toxicity". It is important to note that you should always buy omega-3 nutritional supplements with antioxidants. Antioxidants keep your omega-3 supplements fresh and when combined with vitamin E and/or other antioxidants you will decrease or eliminate the incidences of "fish burps". Benefits of Omega-3 Oils: Omega-3 fatty acid (oil) supplements may reduce cardiovascular events (death, non-fatal heart attacks, non-fatal strokes) if taken in suficient quantities. They can also slow the progression of atherosclerosis (hardening of the heart arteries) in coronary patients. While increasing omega-3 fatty acid intake through foods is preferable, most people may not be able to get enough omega-3 by diet alone. Thus, folks who are interested in Omega 3 oils may want to talk to their doctor about taking a supplement such as this one. Supplements may also help people with high triglyceride levelss, who need even larger doses. The benefits of omega-3 fatty acids in cardiovascular disease are so well demonstrated that the American Heart Association has published statements since 1996 recommending increased fish intake and/or omega-3 supplements. In addition, Omega-3 oils help reduce inflammation and are therefore good for those with rheumatism or rheumatoid arthritis. The standard dose of Omega-3 oils is 1-3 grams per day. Generally this is 3 tablets, one with each meal. Jim "Konedog" Koenig
