ultima August 29, 2008 Kane A. Baker Pretty tasty. Has no sugar. Good for athletes needing replenishment during endurance sports. Lasts quite a while. Well worth the price. I like the raspberry.
Low carb electrolyte drink. Works great, tastes awful August 27, 2008 T. Myers (Beijing, PRC) I have been using the Ultima sports drinks for about 3 years now. I commute 30km on my bikedaily in the heat, swim, and work with a trainer in the gym several times a week. I don't like hi-carb sports drinks and they make me groggy and queasy. I have had good results with the ultima. I use it in my bike bottles daily. I drink it before and after workouts. I sweat like a pig. In the height of summer I leave puddles on the ground when i stop at a red light. My own personal experience is that it helps with the fatigue and cramping. Look at the label and you can see that it is a good balance of electrolytes without the empty carbs. That's the good news. The bad news? Taste. No way around it. The taste is awful. Raspberry is not bad. Orange is ok. The other flavors are simply wretched. As noted by other reviewers it takes some effort to dissolve the powder. Don't expect instant gratification. If you just dump it into cold water you will end up with clumps of it. It is easier to dissolve it in some warm water with vigorous shaking. Then add ice / cold water to dilute it to the proper concentration. Even then it takes a lot of shaking/stirring to get most of it dissolved. It would get 5 stars if it weren't for the taste and the difficulty dissolving the powder.
Works well. July 12, 2008 E. Wilson (atlanta, georgia) Am reordering this item after first buying it from a bike shop. It's got no sugar added. Very light and instant in effect. Tastes great.
This is the best product on the market January 24, 2008 Laura A. Drake (Southern California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband and I are long distance bicycle riders (100 miles a week and several Century rides a year), and we don't want to drink our calories. If you read and compare the nutrition label to any other hydration product, this comes in first for vitamins, electrolytes. We've never cramped drinking this. We both like the Raspberry flavor and go through it by the canister.
Better than the rest! December 21, 2007 Friggy Bum (Round and about) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ultima Replenisher is a complete, balanced electrolyte add-in. I love this stuff before, during and after a heated yoga class, regular aerobic workout or just when I'm feeling a little cotton mouth. Nothing hydrates you as fully or as rapidly as does this. Apart from orange, all the other flavors are GHASTLY [in not just my opinion but the opinions of many many friends of mine] and gross. Orange is okay, not at all bad, but raspberry seems to go best with the natural flavorings in this product. I was buying these in bulk from their website until I noticed Amazon carried the product :]
