Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Chia Seed is an amazing food. For centuries many have used the seeds for a host of different reasons. Native Americans would take a pouch of seeds and a gourd of water on their trips. The seeds were their food source and taken with the water they would hydrate their bodies for endurance. When you hydrate the seeds in water the seeds shell opens up and absorbs up to nine times its volume in water. This then forms a gel, which is called Chia Seed Gel. The gel helps keep your body hydrated. The gel is also 90% soluble fiber, which is beneficial for your digestive track. People use the seeds when they are involved in sports or physical activities for endurance.

Chia was as described. We are very pleased with this product. It was shipped in a box, so no worries of chia spread all over!!

4 out of 5 stars Good product, quick ship, poor packaging.   August 12, 2008

This is the best price for Chia seeds I've found and the seller ships quickly; however, 5# of seeds are STUFFED into an overnight envelope. All it would take is a small puncture for all my seeds to be scattered before getting to me. . . These need to be boxed.

5 out of 5 stars weight reduction & arthritis relief   July 29, 2008

This is a great product, it has helped me lose 10lbs & has helped my arthritis also, my sister uses it & has had the same results along with she claims it gives her more energy, my son runs marithons & he says he's never put in such fast times before, you just have to get over the part where people think you're drinking or eating frog eggs, I just tell everyone they taste kind of like tomatoe seeds, you know, like no real taste at all. I don't go without them now. I make up my gel, then I add it to iced tea and drink it all day, my son just throws the seeds into a power drink, then adds water during the day, I put it on my oatmeal, my sister drinks it as well as puts it on salads, she says don't just sprinkle the seeds on things though cause they stick like glue on your teeth & then you look really tacky & don't realize it.

4 out of 5 stars Good product, needs better packing for mailing   June 5, 2008

I'm pleased with this product, and have used it several times. I like knowing it's chemical free, and I like having it in separate one-pound ziplock bags instead of just one large bag.

However, it arrived in a US Mail priority envelope that had torn in shipping. It's a miracle the ziplock didn't get punctured - I could clearly see the seeds through the hole in the envelope.

The product was fine. The packaging could have been a whole lot better. Should have used a box instead of envelope. Arrived on the very last day of when they said it would be here.
