4 out of 5 stars you will never convince me this is a placebo   November 27, 2007
Matthew L. Cichon (las vegas, nv)
This product works for my knees. It works on my mom's arthritice. Both of those things could be the placebo effect... but it also fixed my dog's arthritic hip. She went from being practically bed ridden to playing on the beach like she hadn't for 6 years. Pretty sure it wasn't a case of faith healing.

5 out of 5 stars It really does work   July 16, 2007

I cant blame people for being leary and doubtful of products these days, I know I am. But this is one product I am confident in because I personally know SEVERAL people that have tried it and are feeling so much better because of it.

My mom made my step-father try it, he thought it was all non-sense. Its a good thing she made him do it though, my step-dad says that while he is still in pain (he has been taking Glucosamine for just over 2 months now)that the pain is a good 75% less than what it was before! He is thrilled, and no longer thinks its nonsense =)

I also work part-time for an attorney who told me not only has taking Glucosamine significantly reduced her pain, but her vet prescribed it for one of her dog's that has arthritis. Before the dog wouldnt get up much & would wimper when he had to walk to his food dish... now after being on the supplement for while, he is running around with her other 2 dogs. Pretty cool.

I have talked to other people who have used Glucosamine for themselves, a family member and / or a pet (including horses!)...and they all swear by its effectiveness. I am eager to join them & hope to be able to reduce my lower back & knee pain! I will try to remember to post on here again after I have taken the supplement for awhile.

I guess the other thing to keep in mind is that not all supplements are created equal. My understanding is that because they are not regulated here in the US, many manufacturers get a way with lying about the ingredients that are in their supplement. If you try a supplement that dosnt work, dont give up, try to do some research & try another brand.

5 out of 5 stars BE Smart, Do your OWN 'research' !   June 19, 2007

IN fact, as a Physician I can easily tell otherAmazon customersDO not put your implicit faith inwhat (so called)"Researchers"Write = most are paid strictly by Big Pharma, which would rather HOOK you on Vioxx and other (terrible for you)poisonsThan imagine you might be personally WISE enough to use a useful product such as Glucosamine (found naturally in your cartilage, onlybegins to decreaseand deteriorate due to age or injury).ONE does not need to place phony beliefsin placebos (as another, I would say MISINFORMED person wrote on here).TRY Glucosamine foryourself (as I did). Those "singing" joints will run farmore smoothly and quietly within a few weeks. If you want to FEAR something = save that for the Rx your doctor may be trying to PUSH on you ...and especially theJUNK medicines whichour (unfunny joke)currentFDA has 'approved' within the last sixyears (i.e. underthe current, corruptAdmin.) ~ which offer far moreHORRID side effects than healing.BE AWARE:Big Pharma tries like the Devil to have even VITAMINSbe available byprescription only !It's about GREED people, not yourhealth.THINK for yourself, don't fall for reviews by those who come on like DrugCompany SHILLS on this site, either. 1 out of 5 stars Panned by Latest Research   April 21, 2007

I used to think this helped me, but quit taking it because of fear of clogged arteries. No difference in joint pain. Now Swiss researches have concluded it has little/no value in reducing arthritis pain - confirming an NIH conclusion in 2005. On the good side, however, researchers also said that there is a strong placebo effect in helping arthritis pain - so, if you believe in it enough, . . .

4 out of 5 stars Important supplement for (aging) runners   March 1, 2007

It's strictly a personal preference, but as an (aging) runner, I definitely believe that my joints reap the benefits of this supplement. While it is featured here at a reasonably fair price, I don't like that the dosage prescribed is 2 tablets, 3x daily. That's a little too frequently for me!
