The best bar available January 3, 2009 N. Goel (USA) I first tried Larabars at a health fair booth held at a grocery store where I normally shop. I am not a health food nut, but I try to eat 'healthily' most of the time. The taste was incredibly good, and as a snack, the Larabar filled me up until mealtime, which is a crucial feature of any snack for me. I love the fact that the bars are primarily based on fruits and nuts with no artificial ingredients (i.e. you can usually count the number of ingredients in the bar on one hand). Other bars that boast to be primarily fruit and nut based do not taste anywhere near as good as these. Additionally, the Larabars are true to the flavors listed, e.g. apple pie, cherry pie, lemon bar. Especially noticeable is the cherry pie bar which is great and loaded with the taste of real cherries (I usually dislike cherry products as most usually taste artificial and medicinal). Other products in the line are great as well, e.g. key lime pie, pecan pie. However, as a note of caution, I do not like any of the chocolate bars in the Larabar line. Their strength is in the fruit and nut based flavors.
Excellent health bar December 25, 2008 Leslie Pellegrini (San Francisco) We highly recommend this health bar. It is delicious and very healthy, low in carbs and fat. A real treat!!!!!!!
Just not for me December 2, 2008 P.M. (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I would recommend buying one or two bars instead of a box if you've never tried these. I love health bars, fruit bars, dates and raisins. But I really didn't like the taste of these at all. They're just too tart or maybe too strong flavored for me. I do like how healthy they are (lots of fiber, potassium, good sugars of course, even a little dose of protein), and that they are a whole serving of fruit - this is why they get two stars. Out of all of these, the apple is the only one I can tolerate. I really tried to like the rest, but I ended up throwing them away and kind of felt bad that I spent so much money on these.
Very Tasty, nutrient dense November 25, 2008 Debi Gale (Martinez, CA) I bought Larabars Variety because I needed something nutritious to take with me for those times when I didn't have time to prepare anything. I like them because they have a sweetness and if you eat them slowly, they are very filling. They help me resist sweets that I might otherwise eat. I just wish they had more protein in them. Otherwise, I highly recommend.
larabar bars November 18, 2008 margaret alger if you love dates, these are great. unfortunately NOT a date fan. and after purchasing i learned that they're high in potassium, which is great for the rest of civilization; not so good for those of us with kidney problems
